KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 8.62 g, 2 h), Amphipolis (?), struck under Philip III or Kassander, circa 323/2-315. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding goad in his right hand and reins in his left; below the horses, trident to right. Gulbenkian II 835 (same dies). Le Rider pl. 79, 180 (D85/R140). SNG ANS 266-7. A bold and lustrous piece, nicely centered and of beautiful style. Very light deposits, otherwise, good extremely fine.
